          Advocacy Strategies Training
          Advocacy Strategies Training

The regional advocacy strategies training was organized in Belgrade on 3 and 4 November 2011. The training was attended by network coordinators from the four countries who participate in the SEE Forum on Climate Change Adaptation. The sessions were prepared and conducted by Marcus Stock of WiFi and Fritz Petroczi from the Austrian Red Cross.

The participants had the opportunity to learn more about what lobbying and advocacy are, how interests are represented in different political systems like Austria and the EU and they discussed their own experiences in their respective countries. The facilitators presented the institutions and legislative process of the EU, as well as the importance of media. The participants defined their country specific interests and prepared a lobbying strategy accordingly. The second day of the training was dedicated to the practices of monitoring and evaluation, their meaning and significance. The progress of the project was analyzed and discussed with the project team, and the future steps for improvement are set.
