South East Europe (SEE) is highly vulnerable to climate change, a fact that might bring along a number of socio-economic, humanitarian and environmental challenges, depending how well countries of this region are prepared. Regional, cross-sectoral cooperation in the field of climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction is therefore of utmost importance. In this context, it is also necessary to strengthen capacities of Civil Society Organisations in the region, in order to allow for increased cooperation between public stakeholders and civil society to facilitate participation in the implementation of the EU socio-economic acquis.
Against this backdrop, the SEE Forum on Climate Change Adaptation aims at increasing awareness of humanitarian, social, economic, environmental and health impacts of climate change in the SEE region and to foster joint initiatives of international, regional and national stakeholders, incl. civil society actors and the Red Cross.
The SEE Forum publishes a Newsletter quarterly with all information relating to project events and announcements, as well as other regional news, funding opportunities and reviwes of publications relevant for the project. You can read the latest issue here.
